Keys to Advancement, Inc held its first annual banquet called “Key Employers Yielding Supported Success" (KEYSS) on September 26th, 2018. Above is the video of that event.
The event was held at Warehouse 23 and honored one outstanding employer in the community. They were presented with the Evelyn Long Employer of the Year Award. The employer selected represented an outstanding business with the most significant impact on building an inclusive workforce; this year’s winner was Vancouver Elite Gymnastics Academy (VEGA), from Camas. Multiple employers were submitted and evaluated regarding growth in employee production, accessibility, an inclusive culture, consistent service to the community, and their willingness to open their doors to people with disabilities. Ms. Long selected the employer personally based on the criteria and presented the award at the event along with all the nominees.
Keys to Advancement and its employees have been partnering with local businesses for almost 20 years to increase the employment rate of people with disabilities in the Vancouver area. We wish to recognize those partnerships and what it means to be an outstanding employer. At this time Keys to Advancement has 13 employees working with 16 employers and over 24 job seekers. It is our goal to support both the employer and employee in finding the perfect job match that will lead to long-term successful employment. We are committed to supporting employers as well as the employees and their coworkers in all aspects of their employment journey. We look forward to celebrating these successes at the KEYSS banquet. It will be a great opportunity to share our passion and belief in enhancing an individual’s quality of life through employment.
